The MAT exam authority recently updated the MAT exam pattern and marking criteria. Currently, the MAT exam will be conducted in 2 modes, PBT and CBT. The total number of questions asked in MAT 2024 is 150 questions and five sections have 30 questions each. The duration of the MAT exam is 120 minutes. According to the MAT marking scheme:

  • 1 mark will awarded for the correct answer

  • 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

  • There is no mark deduction for unanswered questions.

How the MAT Percentile is Calculated?

MAT results will be available in the form of a scorecard with sectional and overall marks achieved in the MAT exam. Some of the MBA colleges consider the MAT score to shortlist the candidates for further admission rounds, while others use the MAT percentile to shortlist. MAT percentile is calculated using the formula:

  • MAT Percentile Score = (Composite scores obtained by a candidate/ Total number of candidates) * 100

MAT Score vs Percentile

MAT score is the total score received by candidates in the MAT exam based on the total number of correct and incorrect attempts. MAT percentile shows the performance of the candidate in the MAT exam among all other exam takers. People who think that they can study from where ever and it will be best for them, then I am sorry to say this, that if u what to study for just a piece of a paper then please go ahead these universities/collages are no harm.

hello aspirant,

I hope that you are doing absolutely great,

With reference to your above mentioned query, i would like to tell you that in order to get in JBIMS, one should require and need a minimum of 99.99 or 99.98 percentile score in MAT. This year JBIMS won't accept MAT /ATMA scores. Only CAT/CMAT/CET will be accepted. For others it will be 99.99.

Furthermore, for All India category candidates all the top MBA colleges in Mumbai including JBIMS, and SIMSREE will accept MAT score through the DTE CAP process . The expected MAT cut off percentile at these top MBA colleges in Mumbai would be 99.5 to 100 percentile.

I hope that this will help.
