What is CAT Percentile?

The CAT percentile represents a candidate’s relative performance in the Common Admission Test as compared to other test-takers. Instead of showing the actual marks, the CAT percentile indicates the percentage of candidates who scored lower than you in the exam. CAT accepting institutes like IIMs use CAT percentiles to shortlist students for the next stage of admission, such as WAT, PI or GD. How is CAT Percentile Calculated?

The CAT percentile can be calculated by using your performance relative to all other candidates who appeared for the exam. The CAT percentile does not show your actual marks but your rank positions among other test-takers. After computing raw scores and applying normalisation lacrosse three slots, each candidate will get a scaled score.

CAT 2025 Marking Scheme

Here is the overview of the CAT 2025 marking scheme for the calculation of the estimated CAT 2025 score. 

• For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded +3 marks. 
• For every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.
• No marks will be deducted for non-MCQs/TITA questions.
