XAT registration last date is December 5, 2025. Since the application process for the XAT exam is online, candidates need to visit xatonline.in to complete their XAT registration 2026. They must keep the specified documents ready, along with the fee and other requisite personal information.

How to register for XAT 2026?

The first step is to register for XAT 2026. The steps for XAT registration 2026 can be divided into three stages. The first stage is creating XAT login credentials, then filling out the application form of XAT, and finally application fee payment.

Step 1 - XAT 2026 registration and creating XAT login credentials

• Visit the official website of XAT: xatonline.in
• Now enter a few basic details to register for XAT 2026

• Now re-login using the same credentials

Step 2 - Filling XAT 2026 application form

• Enter personal and academic details in XAT 2026 application form
• Enter work experience details

• Fill in XLRI programme details and upload documents

Step 3 - Pay XAT 2026 application fee

Documents Required for XAT Registration 2026

Before commencing XAT 2026 registration, candidates need to be ready to upload some documents as per specifications. Documents needed for XAT Registration

• Passport size photograph: File size should be between 20 KB to 50 KB and dimensions should not be more than 200 x 300 pixels. The file should be in .jpg or .jpeg format
• Candidate signature: Scanned in 200 dots per inch resolution and the signature file size should be between 10 KB to 20 KB. The dimensions of the signature will be 140 x 60 pixels

Candidates appearing for the XAT exam may note that the XAT application fee has increased to Rs 2,200 plus Rs 200 for every additional programme chosen. The XAT registration fee can be paid through credit or debit card/ net banking. XAT application fee 2026 is the same for all candidates including reserved candidates (SC/ST/PwD).

XAT 2026 Application Process: In Details

Candidates can refer to the following steps while registering or filling out the application form for XAT 2026.

Step 1 - Visit the official website of XLRI Jamshedpur i.e. www.xatonline.in

In order to fill out the registration form for XAT 2026, candidates are required to visit the official website and register for XAT 2026 to create login credentials.

Step 2 - Now click on new candidate login for a new login and those who have already registered need to click on the “registered login” tab

On the home page of the official website, candidates can see two options-

• Option 1 - New candidate registration
• Option 2 - Registered candidate login

Those who are going to appear for the first time for the XAT exam should select option 1 and those who have already registered at the XAT portal can select option 2 to fill out the XAT 2026 registration form. Those who are not registered will have to create a User ID and Password. In order to create credentials, candidates need to enter the following details:

• Candidates name
• Email address
• Enter mobile number
• Set Password
• Select State
• Select city

• Captcha code

Now enter the security code and then click on the “I agree” tab and proceed with the “Submit” button.

After successful submission, the screen will display XAT 2026 registration details.

• XAT ID
• Candidates name
• Country
• Email ID
• Date of birth
• Mobile number

Step 3 - To continue further click on the “Go to XAT application form” tab

Now re-login by entering your XAT ID and Password to log in. For filling out the application form for XAT, click on ‘go-to application form’ and proceed further.

Step 4 - Fill XAT 2026 application form

After entering the XAT ID and Password and filling out the XAT registration 2026 form, candidates can now fill out the XAT application form, and fill in certain information in various sections, such as

Personal details

• Title (First name, middle name, and last name)
• Email address and alternate email address
• Mobile number and alternate mobile number
• Date of birth (As on August 31)
• Gender
• Nationality
• Marital status
• Blood group

• Do you belong to PwD?

Other personal details

• Mother’s name
• Father’s/ Husband’s/ Guardian’s name

Contact details - Candidates will have to enter their residential address in Line 1, line 2, and Line 3, candidates will have to enter a Country name, District, State/ Union territory, Town/ city name, and Pincode to be submitted while filling the application form of XAT 2026.

Current address - Details regarding the current address must be entered in the provided field at the time of XAT form filling.

Emergency contact detail- along with a personal contact number, candidates will have to provide an emergency contact number till XLRI form last date.

Provide academic qualifications details -

Candidates will have to enter past academic qualification details.

• SSC/ 10th standard or equivalent board name - Marks obtained, total marks, board name, aggregate marks, month/ year of completion
• HSC/ 12th standard/ equivalent/ diploma course details - Marks obtained, course type, total marks, aggregate marks
• Bachelor’s degree details
• Master’s degree (if any)

Other professional degree details

Candidates who have a professional degree such as CA/ CS/ ICWA without a graduation degree are required to submit the details till XLRI last date to apply 2026.

Step 5 - Enter work experience details

Those who have work experience can provide it in the relevant field (Not mandatory).

• Candidates must enter their work experience by March 31, 2026
• The candidate must be a full-time employee
• No part-time job experience will be entertained
• Candidates must be doing their job after graduation

Step 6 - Enter programme details

Now candidates will have to enter programme details which they opt to pursue. Candidates can choose any of the following courses.

• Business Management
• Human Resource Management

• Fellow Programme in Management

For the General Management Programme (One should have a minimum experience of 56 months)

After programme selection, candidates will have to fill in their preference of campus for each programme.

While filling out the application form for XAT 2026, candidates need to choose a test-city preference, where they wish to appear for the entrance exam. As per the latest update from XAT authorities, candidates can select six cities as their preference.

Upload documents- Candidates will have to upload relevant documents for verification purposes. While filling out the XAT 2026 application form, candidates will have to upload the requisite documents

• Passport size photograph should be recent and make sure that the photograph background should be white. Face, head, and shoulder must be visible in the photograph
• Passport-size photograph should not be older than 6 months

• Candidate's photographs and signatures must be uploaded in the XAT application form in the prescribed size and format

After uploading the photograph and signature, click on the “Save and Continue” button and move to the next page

After uploading the required documents, the computer screen will display the XAT 2026 application form declaration.

Step 7 - Pay XAT 2026 application fee

After filling out the entire XAT application form, candidates are required to pay the application fee for XAT 2026. Candidates are required to pay Rs 2200 by using the following method:

• Credit card
• Debit card
• Net Banking
• Paytm

XAT Application Fee 2026- Key points

• XAT Registration Fee (without late fee)- Rs 2200/-
• Those candidates who are interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs 200/- each.
• Indian candidates applying for GMP through GMAT will have to pay Rs 2500/-
• NRI/ Foreign candidates applying for one or more programmes through GMAT will have to pay Rs 5000/-
• There are no separate XAT 2026 registration fees for SC candidates.

Step 8 - Download the payment receipt

After paying the XAT 2026 application fee, the computer screen will display the candidates' details. Candidates will have to download the XAT application detail which will be available in PDF. The same will be intimated through a confirmation test on their email ID and registered mobile number.

What is the eligibility for XAT 2026 registration?

• Applicants must have a three-year bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Students appearing for their final examinations by the second week of June 2026, can also apply. However, they must have proof of their passing by the time admissions commence.

What is the XAT application fee?

• The fee for XAT registration 2026 is Rs 2200/-.

How to retrieve lost XAT ID or Password?

In case a candidate forgot their XAT login credentials, then in such case they can retrieve their XAT credentials by performing the following steps.

• Step 1 - Click on the XAT Registration 2026 tab
• Step 2 - Now click on the “Forgot Password” tab
• Step 3 - Candidates will have to provide their registered email ID and phone number
• Step 4 - Enter the captcha code
• Step 5 - Now click on the “Get Password” tab

XLRI Jamshedpur will release the updated list of XAT exam centres where the test can be taken. According to the notice, the XAT 2026 will be conducted over 109 test centres. Those who complete the application process before the last XAT registration date can correct their submitted application form. XLRI Jamshedpur will close the XAT application form correction window tentatively in the second week of December 2025. After the closing of the correction window, candidates will be able to download their XAT 2025 admit card, which is available in online mode only. While downloading the XAT hall ticket, candidates can use their login credentials (XAT ID and password).

XAT Registration 2026: Eligibility Criteria
